Who we are

JOTAX Sociedad Anónima (RUC 80119411-3), with its registered office at Calle Bonifacio Ovando, Valle Apua 2ª, Lambaré — Departamento Central, Paraguai, is a private legal and economic advisory and consulting firm. It has no link to, affiliation with or mandate to represent any government body of Paraguay or of Brazil.

What this means in practice

Residency applications, identity card (cédula de identidad) applications and company incorporation may be filed directly by the applicant, before the competent Paraguayan authorities, with no intermediary.

The fees charged by JOTAX cover our advisory, guidance and case-management services only. They do not replace the official fees charged by government bodies, which are paid separately and directly to the competent authority.

What we do not promise

• We do not guarantee any decision by an authority. Granting of residency, issuance of documents and company registration rest with public bodies, which decide according to the law and to their own timeframes. We run the process and we answer for our own work — not for someone else's decision.
• We do not offer shortcuts. We do not act as fixers, we do not speed anything up through informal channels and we do not work with irregular documents. A process that depends on bending a rule is not a service JOTAX provides.
• We do not structure anything designed to hide assets or to avoid paying tax that is due. A lawful structure in Paraguay does not erase an obligation that already exists in another country. See the page on definitive exit from Brazilian tax residency.
